OLD DOMINION PROFESSOR RECEIVES AMERICAN INTERCONTINENTAL UNIVERSITY AWARD
K. Denise Threlfall, assistant professor of occupational and technical studies at Old Dominion University, recently received the American Intercontinental University award at the International Textile and Apparel Association Conference.
The award recognizes individuals who enhance expertise in design and marketing in the global marketplace. Threlfall was cited for her proposal "Making Connections: The Interrelated and Interdependent Nature of Fashion Design and Manufacturing," which outlines the development of an undergraduate project relevant to global sourcing and manufacturing in the apparel industry. She will collaborate with faculty at the American Intercontinental University's London campus in March to develop this international project.
The ITAA has thousands of members in 19 countries representing textile and apparel teachers in two-and four-year colleges, textile and apparel manufacturers and publishers of related trade magazines. It publishes the Clothing and Textile Journal, which covers a variety of interdisciplinary topics on textile and apparel.
