NEW ISSUE OF QUEST FEATURES UNIVERSITY'S ENTERPRISE CENTERS

The January 2000 issue of Quest, Old Dominion University's award-winning research magazine, has been distributed and features a special section on three of the College of Engineering and Technology's Enterprise Centers.

The centers -- the Center for Advanced Ship Repair and Maintenance, the Technology Applications Center and the Virginia Space Flight Center -- along with several other university economic development outreach activities, earned Old Dominion the number-one ranking by Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology for job creation and retention in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

In addition, this issue features a piece on geographer Thomas Allen and his work utilizing Landsat aerial views to review land-cover change on Virginia's Eastern Shore and an article on computer and electrical engineer Hani Elsayed-Ali's research into what happens during the transition of a solid to a liquid. Lastly, Quest catches up with transportation economist Wayne Talley to report on his contributions to the maritime industry.

If you have not received a copy of Quest, please call Son Kim at 683-3152.
