GOAL IS TO ANNOUNCE CLOSINGS, DELAYS AT 6 A.M.
As a matter of policy, the offices of Public Safety and Academic Affairs have agreed to decide by 5:30 a.m. whether the university will close, open late or open on time when inclement weather hits Hampton Roads overnight.
The goal is to ensure that area television and radio stations are contacted early enough so that notices about Old Dominion's plans can be broadcast as close to 6 a.m. as possible. Employees and students may also call the university at 683-3000, starting at 6 a.m., for a recorded message.
