BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES SEMINAR SERIES RESUMES TODAY WITH A TALK ON REPRODUCTIVE SEASONALITY

Paul Heideman of the biology department at the College of William and Mary will discuss "The Importance of Good Timing: Reproductive Seasonality and the Evolution of Brain Pathways" Thursday, Jan. 20, as part of the Old Dominion University Department of Biological Sciences Seminar Series.

The talk will take place at 12:30 p.m. in room 102 of the Mills Godwin Jr. Life Sciences Building.

Heideman studies the evolutionary physiology of reproductive regulation in mammals, in particular, the patterns of reproductive timing in wild mammals and how they evolve. His research is focused on individual variation in the brain that regulates reproduction according to changes in environmental cues and the genetic basis for that variation. His current research is on a wild species, the white-footed mouse, and the laboratory rat.
