"BASKETS FOR BOOKS" GAME AND MUSICAL CONCERT SET FOR JAN. 29

The Old Dominion University Monarchs will be shooting for more than just baskets at the Saturday, Jan. 29, men's basketball game. With each basket, they'll be helping to help raise money for the university library.

The 10th annual "Baskets for Books" game will be at 7:35 p.m. against the Virginia Commonwealth University Rams at Norfolk Scope. All proceeds from the game will be donated to the Perry Library at Old Dominion University for new books and equipment. A concert by musical group "Everything" will follow the basketball game.

Admission to the game for individuals presenting a public library card is only $5. General admission tickets to the game are $10 for adults and $8 for children 17 and under, senior citizens, military personnel and faculty and staff.

Admission to the show is $3 for students and $5 for the general public. Students with a game ticket will receive free admission to the concert. Tickets are available at the customer information center in Webb University Center.

During half time, Old Dominion President James V. Koch and Billy Mann, the Monarchs' color analyst for ESPN Radio 1310, will participate in a free-throw shootout to raise even more money for the library.

Anyone interested in donating to the Perry Library at Old Dominion is encouraged to call Friends of the Library at 683-4141. For more information about the "Baskets for Books" game, call 683-4444.
