TAC WINS FOUR NATIONAL AWARDS FOR OUTSTANDING INDUSTRY ASSISTANCE
The Technology Applications Center (TAC) recently received four awards for outstanding efforts in providing technical assistance to four of its local clients at the National Association of Manufacturing and Technical Assistance Centers (NAMTAC) conference in Seattle, Wash.
TAC helped Bayshore Concrete in Virginia Beach improve its design of concrete noise barriers to meet requirements for decibel levels for a light rail system and Hearthsafe Corporation in Norfolk in creating small and low-cost carbon monoxide sensors and a fully operational production unit for manufacturing the sensors. TAC also assisted Mariah Vision 3 Entertainment in Virginia Beach in developing a sky tour helicopter and other entertainment products using splice video with computerized programming for real-time interaction. TAC helped Maxx Material Handling, Inc. in Hampton with the design of a boom for Maxx's line of MAXXREACH� conveyors, which allows them to handle more equipment faster.
The NAMTAC project of the year awards identify outstanding efforts in assisting clients to become more globally competitive, more viable in their fields or more capable of delivering services to the public sector.
