STORYTELLER LAURA SIMMS WILL TALK FOLLOWING 'MOON CUCKOO' PERFORMANCE FRIDAY

Laura Simms, one of the world's foremost storytellers who wrote a version of "The Moon Cuckoo," will talk with theatergoers Friday, Dec. 3, following the 8 p.m. performance of Joseph Feinstein's adaptation of the play at the Stables Theatre on 46th Street.

Simms, who has performed and taught in Paris, at the Lincoln Center and at the 50th anniversary festival to celebrate the Nobel Peace Prize, wrote the 1996 version of the traditional story that was Feinstein's inspiration for the play. At the Friday session, she'll discuss Buddhism, storytelling, theatre and traditional art. The play explains Buddhism through an adventurous story of love, betrayal, religion and magic.

"The Moon Cuckoo" continues through Sunday, Dec. 5. Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $10 for general admission. Call 683-5305 for reservations.
