OLD DOMINION FACULTY TO GIVE PRESENTATIONS ON WELFARE REFORM
Old Dominion University professors will give presentations at "Welfare Reform: Past and Present," four meetings this month scheduled by the League of Women Voters of South Hampton Roads.
Ingrid Whitaker, assistant professor of sociology at Old Dominion University, will be guest speaker for the first session at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, in the foyer of Admiral's Landing, 475 Water St., Portsmouth.
Another session will be at noon Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Harbor Club, Bank of America Building, 1 Commercial Place, Norfolk.
Carolyn Lawes, assistant professor of history at Old Dominion, will be guest speaker for a session at 7 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at International House of Pancakes, 21st and Granby streets, Norfolk.
Ted Burke of the School of Social Work at Norfolk State University will speak at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at First Colonial Inn, 845 First Colonial Road, Virginia Beach.
