NATURAL VISION IMPROVEMENT SYMPOSIUM TO BE HELD NOV. 20-21

Old Dominion University's Darden College of Education will hold a Natural Vision Improvement symposium from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 20-21 at the Sheraton Oceanfront Hotel, Virginia Beach.

Led by four internationally known vision improvement educators who overcame serious vision problems of their own, the symposium will provide a hands-on experience of the latest vision improvement methods, holistic approaches to vision care, a comprehensive overview of vision improvement, workshops, panel discussion with keynote speakers, tips on better vision at the computer and more.

The keynote speakers for the symposium will be:

Grace Halloran At age 25, she was told by her doctors that she had the eyes of an 80-year-old. She put together techniques from nutrition, Oriental medicine, color therapy, eye exercises, stress management and micro-current stimulation into a program that dramatically improved her eyesight. The author of "Amazing Grace," Halloran currently teaches her Integrated Visual Healing Program in San Leandro, Calif.

Meir Schneider Born with congenital cataracts, glaucoma and other serious eye disorders, Schneider underwent five surgeries before age 6 but remained blind. As a teenager he used eye exercises and other techniques to teach himself to see, and succeeded so well that today he has an unrestricted driver's license. His Self-Healing Method, based on discoveries he made while trying to gain functional eyesight, is taught at the School for Self-healing in San Francisco. His latest book is the "Handbook of Self-Healing."

Robert-Michael Kaplan An optometrist who overcame his own battle with double vision, Kaplan created the Beyond 20/20 Vision Program. He is the author of "The Power Behind Your Eyes," a book that explores seeing with his patients on many levels, including eyesight, psychology and consciousness.

Peter Mansfield Author of "The Bates Method," and director of the School of Vision Education in London, Mansfield began his work with vision improvement by overcoming his own severe nearsightedness. He has also led international
conferences on holistic vision, which emphasizes the use of vision to integrate learning and personal development.

In addition to the keynote speakers' presentations, the symposium will include booths with color therapy, light therapy, mini-trampoline games, iridology, chair massage, better vision tools and nutritional and herbal supplements.

The cost for the two-day symposium, which includes lunch, is $169. The cost for full-time students is $49. For more information or to register, call 757-683-4686 or visit the Programs for Continued Learning Web site at http://www.odu.edu/~pcl.
