FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD VIOLINIST TO PERORM NOV. 14 FOR F. LUDWIG DIEHN CONCERT SERIES
Yura Lee, a 14-year-old violinist from Korea, will give a recital at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, in Chandler Recital Hall in the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center at Old Dominion University.
Rohan De Silva will accompany Lee on the piano. The concert is free and open to the public and will feature works by Mozart, Brahms and Bach.
Lee began studying the violin at age 4. When she was 7, she made her debut with Korea's leading orchestra, the KBS Symphony. In 1994, Lee moved to the United States.
She has performed with the orchestras of Albany, Calgary, Columbus, Honolulu and Kansas City. Lee also has been featured on "The Late Show with David Letterman," WABC-TV in New York, National Pubic Radio's "Performance Today" and German Radio Broadcasting.
De Silva, a native of Sri Lanka, spent six years at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He received both his bachelor's and master's degrees in music from the Julliard School.
