PROGRAM EXPLORING SOCIETAL MESSAGES ABOUT ALCOHOL AMONG TODAY'S ALCOHOL AWARENESS WEEK ACTIVITIES

Alcohol Awareness Week continues Tuesday, Oct. 18 with "Make it a Double -- Standard That Is," a workshop which will explore societal messages and attitudes regarding women, men, alcohol and sex, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Virginia Beach Room in Webb Center.

Facilitated by Jody Wolford-Tucker, assistant director of the Women's Center, the program is sponsored by Delta Sigma Lambda, the Honor Council and the Women's Center.

*Are You Seeing Double?, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m., South Mall, Webb Center. See for yourself what it is like to be intoxicated and just how your judgment changes. Sponsored by Student Health Services.

*Alcohol in the Hall, 8:30 - 9:30 p.m., Gresham Main. So, you are thinking of drinking in the residence hall or out of the residence hall. This session will explore the outcomes of this decision. Sponsored by Johnson and Wales and the Residence Life Alcohol and Drug Task Force. FMI 855-8645.
*Entrapment 7:30 p.m., MGB 102 . Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta Jones team up for a romantic thriller centering around a priceless painting that was stolen in a daring robbery. The evidence points to Robert MacDougal, a legendary gentleman thief who has never been caught. Sponsored by the Pre-Law Association and the Student Activities Council.

The most vulnerable group for date rape are females between the ages of 18-24; in 80% of these cases some sort of substance is involved.
