LITERARY FESTIVAL CONTINUES OCT. 12

The 1999 Old Dominion University Literary Festival, titled "The Spirit of the Word," is Oct. 11-15 and includes appearances by former U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize winner Rita Dove.

The following events are Tuesday, Oct. 12:

11 a.m. - Mike Kelly, Hampton/Newport News Room, Webb University Center;

2 p.m. - Erin McGraw, Hampton/Newport News Room, Webb University Center;

4 p.m. - Panel: "Writing Race" with writers Mike Kelly, Ethelbert Miller, Luisa Igloria and Tim Seibles and moderators Juanita Comfort and Charles Wilson, Hampton/Newport News Room, Webb University Center;

8 p.m. - Reading by Andrew Hudgins, Chandler Recital Hall, Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center.
