JAZZ TRUMPETER INGRID JENSEN, TOOMEY TRIO IN CONCERT TONIGHT
Ingrid Jensen, internationally acclaimed jazz trumpeter, will perform with the John Toomey Trio at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, in Chandler Recital Hall of the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center. The concert is free, but seating is limited.
Combining virtuosity with emotional expressiveness, Jensen is a jazz artist with true vision. Based in New York City, she says her daily quest is "to play honestly in the moment and react freely and wisely to all the elements within this music."
In 1995, at the age of 25, Jensen became the youngest teacher at Austria's Bruckner Conservatory. Based in Vienna, she played with touring American jazz musicians, including Lionel Hampton, Clark Terry, Roy Hargrove, Tom Harrell and Benny Bailey.
