INTERNATIONAL MODELING AND SIMULATION WEEK TO DRAW WORLD LEADERS OCT. 25-29

Old Dominion University will host International Modeling and Simulation Week -- the first event of its kind in the country -- Monday to Friday, Oct. 25-29. The weeklong symposium will be held at the Clarion Hotel in Norfolk.

Sponsored by Old Dominion University, along with the U.S. Atlantic Command and Hampton Roads regional organizations, International Modeling and Simulation Week will feature a NATO modeling and simulation conference, Partnership for Peace Education and Training Conference, an industry exposition and tours of military wargaming, commercial simulation and aeronautical research facilities.

The week's seminars and activities are expected to draw more than 500 government, military, industry and technology leaders from around the world, along with policy makers, ambassadors, leading scientists, researchers and information technology practitioners.

International Modeling and Simulation Week will begin with the Partnership for Peace Education and Training Conference Oct. 25-26. Designed to forge a partnership between NATO and participating non-NATO and former Warsaw Pact countries, the conference will inform leaders from partner nations about how modeling, simulation and other technologies can enhance education and training.

An industry exposition of technological products and capabilities will be offered from noon to 8 p.m. Oct. 26, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 27, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 28, in the Clarion Hotel's MacArthur Ballroom.

The NATO Modeling and Simulation Conference will follow on Oct. 28-29. It will introduce NATO' modeling and simulation plan and simulation policy, provide an overview of modeling and simulation activities, and feature technological developments.

The cost for the week's events is $325 for industry participants and $275 for government participants. For more information on International Modeling and Simulation Week call 757-686-6208 or toll-free 1-877-292-0966, or visit the Web site: www.imsweek.org.
