EVMS DOCTOR TO DISCUSS INFLUENZA AT BIOLOGY LECTURE SERIES OCT. 14

Dr. Stefan Gravenstein will discuss the history of the influenza virus during the weekly Department of Biological Sciences Seminar Series at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, in the Mills Godwin Jr. Life Sciences Building, Room 102.

Dr. Gravenstein, program director of the Glennan Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, has research interests in memory loss, immunology, osteoporosis, influenza in the elderly and influenza epidemiology, especially as it pertains to closed settings.

The influenza virus is a contagious respiratory pathogen that causes epidemics during the winter months.
The seminar is open to the public. Parking is available at 43rd Street and Elkhorn Avenue.
