W.I.L.D. APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED
The application deadline for the Women's Institute for Leadership Development (W.I.L.D.) has been extended to Friday, Sept. 24. The Institute begins Monday, Sept. 27.
A semester-long program sponsored by the Women's Center, W.I.L.D. focuses on developing the leadership skills of women students. The Institute, now in its fourth year, is designed to explore women's styles of leadership and to create an environment that values and nurtures women leaders by incorporating theory and practice.
The Institute features seven modules, including welcome/orientation, ropes course, women's leadership styles, diversity �leading outside the lines, communication styles and conflict management, emerging careers/networking and reflection/synthesis. All modules take place 3-5 p.m. Mondays, except the ropes course, which will take place 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9
A Steering Committee, coordinated by Julie Dodd, Director of the Women's Center, is responsible for the design and implementation of the Institute. Members of the Institute are chosen through an application process at the beginning of each semester.
