TWO CAMPUS FACILITIES EARN DESIGN AWARDS

Two of the newest campus structures recently received regional and national awards. The Albert Brooks Gornto Jr. TELETECHNET Center, which opened for classes last spring, received a Design Merit Award in the 1999 Mid Atlantic Masonry Design Awards Competition. The building was designed by Ayers Saint Gross.

The F. Ludwig Diehn Composers Room, part of the addition to the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center that opened in July 1997, was awarded a National Citation for Design Excellence in the American School and University Architectural Portfolio, 1999 issue. The designer was George Nasis of Mosely Harris McClintock.

"These awards recognize our increased focus on the physical presence on the campus and we are pleased that these projects have been singled out," said David F. Harnage, vice president for administration and finance.
