STUDENT GROUP TO HOST TURKISH EARTHQUAKE RELIEF NIGHT SEPT. 2

Old Dominion University's Turkish Student Society is hosting an Earthquake Relief Night Thursday, Sept. 2, to raise awareness and money for the victims of the Aug. 17 disaster which killed thousands of Turkish citizens and destroyed cities.

The program will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Hampton/Newport News Room in Webb University Center. Students will provide information about the earthquake and show slides of Turkey before the devastation. The program will also feature Turkish folk music and poetry.

Donations for the relief fund will be accepted at the door and throughout the evening. A donation box for clothing and nonperishable food items is located in the bookstore in Webb Center.
