MILITARY CAREER TRANSITION PROGRAM IS FLYING HIGH AFTER NATIONAL MEDIA ATTENTION
More than two million travelers flying the friendly skies this month will learn about Old Dominion University's Military Career Transition Program thanks to a feature piece in US Airways' in-flight magazine, Attache.
In the September issue, US Airways Chairman Stephen M. Wolf devotes his monthly "Chairman's Corner" essay to the teacher shortage crisis and describes how Old Dominion's MCTP is addressing that need. "Classroom Leaders: With a looming teacher shortage, military and corporate veterans are stepping up" quotes Bob MacDonald, director of MCTP, and Michael Frederick, a retired Marine and graduate of the program who now teaches in Baltimore.
"The positive recognition of MCTP in Attache underscores the excellent and innovative programs Old Dominion offers and continues to bolster the university's national reputation," said John R. Broderick, vice president for institutional advancement.
