GATEWAYS ENSEMBLE CONCERTS BEGIN OCT. 10
In conjunction with the F. Ludwig Diehn Residency, violist Amadi Hummings leads the Gateways Music Festival Chamber Ensemble in a concert at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, in Chandler Recital Hall. The program is funded in part by a grant from the Norfolk Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
The ensemble also performs at 5 p.m. Oct. 10 at Carver Memorial Presbyterian Church, Newport News; 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at Norfolk State University's Wilder Hall; and 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at Virginia Union University.
The ensemble will perform works by St. Georges, von Dohnanyi and Dvorak. Other members of the ensemble include Kelly Hall and Mellasenah Evans on violin, Beverly Baker on viola and Rupert Thompson and Troy Stuart on cello.
