Delegate Kenneth R. Plum, a 1965 graduate of Old Dominion University and speaker in the upcoming President's Lecture Series, was one of 10 elected officials in the United States to be honored by the U.S. Internet Council with the Internet Leadership Award. The award was presented to Plum for "his leadership in advancing sound public policies that promote the continued growth of the Internet and extending its benefits to all Americans."

A long time leader in promoting the benefits of the development of the technology industry in the state and in the greater Reston area, Plum chairs Virginia's Joint Commission on Technology and Science and co-chairs the Virginia House of Delegates Committee on Science and Technology. Plum, who resides in Falls Church, will take part in the Sept. 16 President's Lecture Series, "Panel Discussion on Upcoming Virginia Elections," at 8 p.m. in the Mills Godwin Jr. Life Sciences Building. He will be joined by Robert D. Holsworth, professor of political science and public administration at Virginia Commonwealth University; Mark J.
