ODU Research Partner J-Lab Holds Open House

The Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility in Newport News, for which Old Dominion University is the largest nuclear research partner, will host a public open house Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Admission and parking for the "New Era of Science" open house are free. Jefferson Lab is located at 12000 Jefferson Ave.
Guests of all ages will be able to take part in interactive activities and tour the lab facilities. Through exhibits, demonstrations and lectures, visitors will learn about the experiments being conducted at J-Lab, superconducting materials, supercomputing, particle accelerators, cryogenics and more.
Photography and videorecording are welcome. The event will be spread out over a loop of about two miles and will involve walking, stairs and inclined truck ramps. Free shuttle buses will be available to carry visitors between most tour stops.
