Sarah Brown, who is graduating Dec. 17 with a dual degree in psychology and human services, is this semester's Outstanding University Scholar.

The Old Dominion University Alumni Association presents awards, following each spring and fall semester, for academic achievement in the University's six colleges. The awards were presented Thursday, Dec. 15 during ODU's Student Honors and Awards Dinner at Webb University Center.

Brown, who is from Portsmouth, listed Konstantin Cigularov, an associate professor in the Department of Psychology, as her inspirational faculty member.

"Konstantin has been a continuous source of motivation and encouragement." Brown said. "He taught me everything I know and the importance of quality research in the field of psychology."

Brown is also this semester's Outstanding College Scholar for the College of Sciences.

Derek Davis, from Norfolk, is the Outstanding College Scholar for the Batten College of Engineering and Technology. Davis listed Lee Land, senior lecturer from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, as his inspirational faculty member.
