Shannon Sauerwald Named New Webb Center Director

Shannon Sauerwald, of Old Dominion Auxiliary Services, was recently named the new director of Webb Center. She will assume the position held for many years by Sue Mitchell, who retired from the University in June.
Sauerwald has worked at ODU since 2009, most recently as assistant director of Webb Center. Previously, she served as assistant director for marketing and membership for the Office of Recreation and Wellness.
Prior to coming to ODU, Sauerwald served for several years in leadership roles at local community centers. From 2005 to 2009 she served as the Center Director for the Simon Family Jewish Community Center, and before that she was the Executive Director for the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. Sauerwald is an ODU alumna, with a Bachelor of Arts in communications and Master of Science in sports and recreation management.

Sauerwald has a combined 15 years of experience in facility operations.
