A Banner Year for Enrollment Growth and Student Retention Rates at Old Dominion

Old Dominion University is experiencing a banner academic year in terms of enrollment growth and student retention rates.

In fall, 2014, overall enrollment grew by 1 percent, which met the University's enrollment growth goal. Additionally, out-of-state student enrollment grew by 6 percent during the same period.

But the good news doesn't end there.

"We experienced the highest six-year graduation rate in the history of Old Dominion University," said Ellen Neufeldt, vice president for student engagement and enrollment services.

The University's six-year graduation rate currently stands at 52 percent.

Further, fall 2014 enrollment figures show students came from 49 states as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam as well as 119 countries around the world. Approximately 4,800 students, or 19 percent of total fall 2014 enrollment, took all of their courses online and 35 percent of the fall enrollment took at least one course online.
