Michael Pompian, an investing consultant and award-winning author who suggests that managing behavior, and not just money, is the key to investing wisely, will speak to Old Dominion's Economics Club of Hampton Roads.
Pompian, director of the private wealth practice at Hammond Associates and author of "Behavioral Finance and Investor Types," will speak at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
The Economics Club, sponsored by Old Dominion University's Strome College of Business, attracts world class speakers in business-related fields to speak to local business and academic leaders.
The event, which runs from 11:40 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., is free for members of the Economics Club of Hampton Roads, and $40 for non-members. Luncheon reservations can be made HERE.
Pompian, a leading authority in the practical application of behavior finance concepts to wealth management, is a chartered financial analyst and certified financial planner with many years of experience with several firms. Hammond Associates, based in Highland, Mich., is an investment consulting firm serving institutional and private wealth clients.
A regular speaker on the subject of behavioral science, Pompian wrote "Behavior Finance and Investor Types" to help readers plan a strategy targeted to their personality. The book includes a test for determining investment type and offers strategies to put into use when investing. It also includes a brief history of the stock market, and information about stocks and investing to help readers lay a solid foundation for investment decisions.
