The Department of History presents History Forum featuring Professor Tim Orr “Fear the Vengeance of an Abused and Offended Army”: Did the Union Army Threaten a Coup-D’état in 1863?” Professor Tim Orr is Assistant Professor of History at ODU and author of numerous articles on the Civil War, as well as the editor of a collection of letters called “Last to Leave the Field”: The Life and Letters of First Sergeant Ambrose Henry Hayward, 28th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (2011). Please join us as Professor Orr shares material from a forthcoming book on the interplay of politics and promotion in the Union army.
