Edwin Oshin Receives Top Honor at GSGA Research Conference

We are delighted to announce that Edwin Oshin has been awarded the 1st Place for Poster Presentation at the Graduate Student Government Association (GSGA) Research Conference held on April 5, 2024.
This conference marked a significant milestone as the inaugural event organized by the Graduate Student Government Association. It provided a platform for students to showcase their groundbreaking research to the wider campus community, underscoring the rich diversity of scholarly pursuits at Old Dominion University.
Edwin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Nigeria, and a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from ODU. Currently, he is in the final year of his Ph.D. program in Biomedical Engineering, working under the mentorship of Professor Chunqi Jiang.
Edwin's research interests encompass the fundamental studies and applications of nanosecond atmospheric pressure plasma for cancer therapy, a field with profound implications for advancing healthcare. His contributions to the discipline have been recognized through various awards, including being the inaugural recipient of the Karl & Gisela Schoenbach Fellowship in 2020 and earning the esteemed title of BME Researcher of the Year in 2022.
His exceptional performance at the GSGA Research Conference not only highlights his individual talent but also underscores ODU's commitment to fostering innovative research and academic excellence.
