Changes to Student Printing this Fall
We're making it easier for you to print to any of the printers across campus. No need to download complicated drivers and select specific printers, and no more shuffling through other people's print jobs that get forgotten.
To prepare for this change, printers in academic buildings and residence halls will be temporarily offline at some point during the week of August 9 while we perform work on the print servers. (See the schedule below.)
Printing to Monarch Print Anywhere
After August 12, you can upload a file to the Monarch Print cloud and swipe in at any Monarch printer to release your job. Here's how:
- Go to monarchprint.odu.edu and log in with your MIDAS ID and password.
- Upload your file.
- Walk up to any campus printer within 24 hours and swipe your University ID Card in the card reader.
- Touch the print icon, select the name of your print job, and then push the Start button.
- Pick up your paper from the output tray.
- Remember to log out when you are finished printing.
Printing costs are deducted from your printing funds or Monarch Plus account (if printing funds have been used) after you've committed your job to actual paper.
Uninstall the Pharos print client
If you've ever printed to University printers from your personal computer in the past, please uninstall the Pharos print client and forget all of the University printers you've printed to before. You don't need them anymore.
Printing from the computer labs
You can use the Print function from any program on a lab computer. Click "Print," select the printer called "MonarchPrint," then swipe your University ID at any campus printer (and follow steps 4-6 above).
Printers will be down intermittently the week of August 9:
