ODU Symphony Orchestra Auditions
The ODU Symphony Orchestra invites all students (both music majors and non-majors) to audition for the 2021-22 season. Openings are available in almost every instrument: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, percussion, piano, harp, and all strings. The ODUSO rehearses every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30-3:10pm in the Diehn Center for Performing Arts, Rm. 1105 (exceptions made for students with 3pm classes). We are looking forward to an exciting season, including a side-by-side concert with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra featuring conductor JoAnn Falletta, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s musical Cinderella, collaborations with fantastic guest soloists, and works by such composers as Schubert, Schumann, Bizet, and Florence Price.
Auditions will be held this Monday and Tuesday in Diehn Rm. 2103. Auditions consist of playing a list of excerpts that are available on the orchestra’s audition webpage. (Please open with Google Chrome as Safari has issues loading the excerpts—e-mail Paul Kim at pkim@odu.edu if you are having problems.)
If you are interested in auditioning, please e-mail Paul Kim at pkim@odu.edu with your name and instrument, and sign up for an audition using one of the following links:
