<p> <strong><em>&quot;DIFFICULT DIALOGUE&quot;</em></strong></p> <p> <strong>Andrew Jatau, Professional Counselor/Assistant Professor</strong></p> <p> <strong>Kathryn Hughes, Professional Counselor</strong></p> <p> <strong>Dr. Jeffrey Touissant, Professor in Sociology &amp; Criminal Justice</strong></p> <p> <em>Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 12:00pm River Rooms</em></p> <p> Race is one of the ways that we choose to classify ourselves and others, yet we do not take the time to explore how we are impacted by it on a daily basis.&nbsp; The discussion around race is one that is difficult to have, and for this reason, it is often avoided.&nbsp; We currently live in a society that promotes a colorblind interaction with others, but to truly be colorblind and nonjudgmental would be unrealistic.</p> <p> This program will challenge you to explore your identity in regards to race, culture, and ethnicity and how it affects how you view and interact with others.&nbsp; Exercises will provide the opportunity for participants to explore and discuss their own racial identity development while learning ways to promote positive social interactions and change.</p> <p> <a href="https://orgsync.com/3698/events/806562/occurrences/1691314">Register here:</a></p> <p> <strong><u>Can&#39;t make this session?
