<p style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 13px;"> We are conducting a research study aimed at prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, but we also need healthy controls. To participate, you must be 18–65 years old and pass a simple health screening questionnaire that you will complete in our lab in the SRC. We specifically are looking for people with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes for inclusion at this point, along with a few healthy controls.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 13px;"> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 13px;"> If approved to be in the study, you will receive a free A1C test on your second visit, which is a common fingerstick blood test to screen for diabetes and prediabetes, and undergo some simple and quick testing with monofilaments and other painless screening tools. Your participation will determine the most effective methods of detection of prediabetes and early health problems, giving more time for individuals to respond with healthier life choices. </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 13px;"> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 13px;"> Please contact Jennifer Brown at <a href="https://webmail.odu.edu/owa/redir.aspx?C=N1Kjt9giUEqMH0a_CvRhVHq7hvriq9EInUxcXleKmeebCs9XCo3jm4KJfgvLfkYq8ayK1Yx0yeQ.&URL=mailto%3ajbrow126%40odu.edu" target="_blank">jbrow126@odu.edu</a> in the Human Movement Sciences Department if you are interested in participating or with any additional questions.</p>
