Norfolk Aesthetic Colloquium- Friday 11/7/14

<p> The Institute for the Humanities is pleased to be hosting a public forum conversation on the Norfolk Aesthetic on Friday, November 7 from 3-5PM at the Baron and Ellin Gordon Galleries.<br /> <br /> The event brings together local artists, critics, curators and educators to discuss whether and how the arts scenes in Norfolk have been influenced and inspired by the local environment and to what extent can there be something akin to a &quot;Norfolk style&quot; of art.<br /> <br /> Our panelists are:<br /> <br /> Teresa Annas (art critic, Virginian-Pilot)<br /> Fred Bayersdorfer (Assistant Dean for the Arts, ODU)<br /> Karen Rudd (Manager of Cultural Affairs, Selden Arcade)<br /> Dr. John Rudel (Curator of Exhibitions, Virginia Wesleyan College)<br /> <br /> The event is free and open to the public.
