Student Warehouse Worker Needed

This position is for the Procurement Services Department, and will start with the Spring Semester.</div> <div class="label"> </div> <div class="label"> <u><strong>WAREHOUSE WORKER</strong></u></div> <div class="label"> <strong>Description</strong></div> <p> -Unload supplies and equipment from delivery trucks for safe and appropriate handling and/or storage.<br /> - Check in merchandise by matching purchase orders to items received, and report discrepancies to supervisor in a timely manner.<br /> - Move materials and items from receiving areas to other designated holding areas within the warehouse.<br /> -Interpret shipping orders, and purchase orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, and distributed to the departments within two days of receipt in the warehouse.<br /> - Operate state vehicle and delivery truck as required.<br /> - Apply ODU equipment identification tag to Equipment Trust Fund (EFT) and controllable equipment within two days of receipt.<br /> - Record equipment inventory information on the appropriate forms to be submitted to supervisor.Process requests through Surplus Equipment Turn in forms.<br /> - Coordinate receipt of materials from the department by using appropriate equipment such as: delivery truck, pallet jacks, and forklifts to safely handle surplus property.<br /> - Complete and process the appropriate forms to document transfers according to applicable policies and procedures.<br /> -Assists in maintaining the perpetual inventory of surplus material and enters all transactions into spreadsheet as directed.<br /> - Annually performs calculations for physical inventory of all surplus property and completes documentation as directed.<br /> - Prepare surplus equipment designated for public sale in accordance with state guidelines.<br /> - Assists in working with departmental TSP’s to ensure cleaning of sensitive data andre-installationn of Operating Systems for computers allocated to set-sale disposal.<br /> -Determine the safe and appropriate method for moving large and small items so that storage area remains neat, compliant with fire safety and other applicable guidelines, and readily accessible for delivery.</p> <div class="job-bfields"> <div class="label"> <strong>Position Type</strong></div> <div class="jobfld-job_type"> Campus Student Employment, Campus Student Hourly</div> <div class="label"> <strong>Approximate Hours Per Week</strong></div> <div class="jobfld-hours_per_week"> Maximum of 20 hours a week</div> <div class="jobfld-hours_per_week"> We will work with your school schedule.</div> </div> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> ODU Career Link: <a href="https://odu-csm.symplicity.com/">https://odu-csm.symplicity.com/</a></p>
