Brief Outage to VPN and All ODU Web Sites this Sunday
<p> Please be advised that OCCS system maintenance and enhancements to the University’s firewall on Sunday, May 19, 2013 will cause a brief outage to all <a href="http://www.odu.edu/">www.odu.edu</a> web sites. The service interruption will occur between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and is anticipated to last approximately 5 minutes. During this time, users will not be able to access the Old Dominion University webpage, VPN, or ANY web-authenticated ODU services.</p> <p> Please note that this means that work in progress in ALL web-authenticated ODU services (including but not limited to: Blackboard, Leo Online, Banner, email, MIDAS, and myODU) could be lost when the brief outage occurs. As such, we encourage you to avoid scheduling work during this time and to frequently save your work if you are accessing the ODU network remotely this Sunday morning.</p> <p> The system enhancements to the University’s firewall that are being performed will deliver advanced security to the University network. The actual downtime will be minimal; if users experience problems connecting to <a href="http://www.odu.edu/">www.odu.edu</a> sites and services during the outage window they are advised to at least 5 minutes to reconnect, at which point services should be restored.</p>
