Notice for anyone using Windows Mail with ODU faculty/staff email
As of November 13, ODU employees will no longer be able to manage faculty/staff email from Windows Mail (the native Microsoft Windows mail app), whether from an ODU-managed computer or on a personal device. Going forward, Windows users will only have access to email from the Outlook app or from Outlook on the web (outlook.odu.edu).
Open or install Outlook for Windows:
- ODU-managed Windows computers should have Outlook pre-installed. Click the magnifying glass and search for Microsoft Outlook to open the application.
- As an ODU employee, you can download and install the Microsoft Office suite on personal computers at no cost to you. Learn more here.
Configure Outlook:
- Follow these instructions to add your email account to Outlook.
(If you already use Outlook to check your email, you can disregard this message. Mac users can continue to use Outlook for Mac or Mac Mail.)
Contact the ITS Help Desk at itshelp@odu.edu if Outlook is not installed on your computer or you run into any issues.
