Campus Conversations: Engaging & Empowering Men's Voices
When you hear the words “masculinity” or “toxic masculinity,” what comes to your mind? Do you instantly recall stereotypes, definitions that may or may not fit your own, or images that have been associated with those terms? For International Men’s Day, the Women & Gender Equity Center invites you to join us in answering these questions with our guest speaker, Obbie West, for “Campus Conversations: Engaging & Empowering Men’s Voices.”
Obbie West is an international spoken word artist, advocate, and author tackling touch topics such as sexual violence, prevention, and awareness. This event will provide an interactive engagement about how unhealthy masculinity impacts all men, especially male survivors, and discuss ways to talk to the next man about the impact of interpersonal violence, and more.
Please do encourage your students to attend. This event is open to students, faculty and staff of all gender identities.
