CLT Announces Recipients of 2022 Faculty Innovator Grants

The Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2022 Faculty Innovator Grants.

 

The program encourages Old Dominion University faculty to explore innovative uses of technology to improve student learning, and awards ranged from $500 to $3,000.

 

Congratulations to the following winners: 

 

Amber Hunt, School of Dental Hygiene – Enhancing Dental Hygiene Students’ Clinical Education Through Instrumentation Videos. Collaborating faculty: Ann Bruhn. 

 

Betty Rose Facer, Department of World Languages and Cultures – Leveraging Virtual Reality for World Languages and Cultural Awareness. Collaborating faculty: Zhongtang Ren, Shadi Bayadsy, Ouafaa Zouali, Peter Schulman, Christine Mitchell. 

 

Mindy Gumpert, Department of Communication Disorders and Special Education – A Riff on Content Acquisition Podcasts for Preservice Teachers. 

 

Noah Glaser, Department of STEM Education and Professional Studies – Exploring Online Learning Experiences in Collaborative 3D Virtual Learning Environments. Collaborating faculty: Mohan Yang. 

 

Faryaneh Poursardar, Department of Computer Science – Drone Programming Studio: Collaborating faculty: Sampath Jayarathna. 

 

Rachel Childs, School of Medical Diagnostics and Translational Services – Bringing the Lab to You: Online Supplementation for MLS Microscopy. Collaborating faculty: Angela Wilson, Jennifer Rickerson. 

 

Rachel White, Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership – Real-world, Time-Constrained Simulations in Education Policy, Politics, and Legal Situations.
