Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity Virtual Operations

Dear Monarch,

Please note that the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity is following the University, state, and federal officials’ recommendations regarding social distancing during our response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Consequently, our new office location (Innovation Research Park Building I, Suite 106) will not be physically staffed during this time. However, our staff is still available remotely via phone, email, and virtual meetings, and we are ready to assist and support you.

The Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity’s operations will continue as usual, although some of our procedures may change as we move operations to a virtual platform.  To file a complaint or submit a report of a concern, please continue using our online options available on our website: https://www.odu.edu/equity. If you have questions or concerns or would like to speak with someone about an issue, you may contact our Case Manager & Outreach Coordinator, Heather Fuss, at (757) 683-3141 or at hfuss@odu.edu.

If you are a designated responsible employee, you must continue reporting potential Title IX violations to the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity.  You may do so by contacting the University’s Title IX Coordinator, Courtney Kelly, at (757) 683-3141 or at cmkelly@odu.edu.  You may also submit a report here: https://cm.maxient.com/reportingform.php?OldDominionUniv&layout_id=9. If you have experienced an instance of sexual harassment, including sexual violence, stalking, or dating/domestic violence, you may also contact the Title IX Coordinator, or you can file a complaint here: https://cm.maxient.com/reportingform.php?OldDominionUniv&layout_id=8.

Additionally, Old Dominion University denounces discrimination of any sort, including discriminatory actions against people of Asian descent stemming from the current health crisis. Any such discriminatory treatment is a violation of University’s Discrimination Policy and should be reported immediately.

Finally, please note that our procedural timelines have been impacted by the University’s closure and the need to assess virtual operations. However, our staff is working diligently to quickly resume all operations and bring cases and projects up to speed as efficiently as possible.

Thank you,

Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity
