Women's Basketball Team To Honor Seniors at Thursday's Game
The ODU women's basketball team (24-4, 14-2) will play its final regular-season home game Thursday against UAB (18-10, 10-6). Prior to the 6:30 p.m. tipoff, the program will honor its seniors, including Taylor Edwards and Ashley Scott. Edwards, a four-year player for the Monarchs, is leading the team in scoring at 11.9 points per game and in assists at 3.5 per game. She has played in all 28 games, starting 23. Scott started all 28 games and is averaging 3.7 rebounds per game.
The game will be a rematch of the January 4 game in Birmingham when the Blazers knocked off the Monarchs, 76-65. ODU went on an 11-game win streak after the loss at UAB. The Monarchs are 14-2 in conference play with road losses to UAB and Charlotte. ODU will close out the regular season Saturday at Rice (19-8, 14-2) in what may become the battle for the regular-season title. Rice hosts UTEP Thursday.
At halftime of the game, the Amazing Tyler, who has performed at college and NBA venues throughout the country, will present his entertaining balancing act.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors (55+), youth (17 and under) or active/retired military.
