Study on Parenting and Attitudes Towards Parenting

Hello Monarchs,

Researchers at the Department of Psychology are looking to validate assessments designed to capture a variety of experiences associated with parenthood and examined the degree to which these measures relate to positive development among parents of various age groups. The knowledge gained from this study will inform subsequent studies that will be capable of providing information on how we may develop effective strategies for helping adults transition into the role of parents and how we may develop programs capable of assisting parents’ general mental health.

If you are at least 18 years old and the biological parent of at least one child or an expectant parent, we would greatly appreciate it if you could complete a short 25 to 30 minute online survey. Your responses will be entirely anonymous and thus, it will be impossible to link your responses back to you. Neither your name nor any identifying information will appear in this survey.

The survey must be completed on a computer. To participate, please click on the https://odu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cTvO0e1ngoHD7jT to participate in this study. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email at TARDIS@odu.edu.

Thank you very much for your consideration and for participating in this survey.

Sincerely,

Dr. Alan Meca
