Mapathon - Mapping Niger State, Nigeria

On October 19th and October 20th, ODU's Geography Program will officially open their new GIS lab and host their first Mapathon!

As part of the Missing Maps project, we will map settlements, roads, houses, and other features in an area in Niger State, Nigeria. No previous mapping experience is required!

Currently, MSF (Médecins sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders) teams are working there to respond to a variety of different health needs. These include emergency response to disease outbreaks across the area. Our maps will assist these and other emergency teams with epidemiological analysis, disease surveillance, and logistical planning.

In total, we organize three two-hour sessions. Participation is free and open to the public. Places are limited. Sign-up for a session NOW.

See attached flyer for more information.
