Leveraging Mobile Apps for Teaching
Workshop Description:
In this hands-on workshop, you will review several apps that will allow you and your students to actively participate and engage in your course materials and activities. Participants will build quizzes, load presentations, create video slideshows, develop a sample classroom community and learn how to annotate still images to illustrate their narrative. CLT will provide iPads with these apps during the workshop: BaiBoard 3, Spark Video, Ideament, ClassDojo, and Kahoot!
Workshop Prerequisites:
- A desire, interest, or curiosity in the utilization of collaborative tools
- No prior knowledge or experience with an iPad is required
Workshop activities will include tips and technical considerations for choosing appropriate apps based on Bloom’s Taxonomy followed by hands-on exploration and creation of sample activities such as mind-maps, interactive quizzes and games, collaborative whiteboard, video presentations, and creating a classroom community.
Dates & Times: Thursday, October 5, from 10:00am-12:00pm
