ODU Virginia Beach Lit Fest-Elmaz Abinader on Sept 29

39th ODU Literary Festival at ODU Virginia Beach featuring Elmaz Abinader

On Thursday, September 29, 2016, the ODU Literary Festival at ODU Virginia Beach will feature the poet Elmaz Abinader.  She will read from her most recent poetry collection, This House, My Bones, and other works, from 12:30 - 1:30pm in room 244. This will be followed by a reception and book signing. Books will be available for purchase at the event from the University Book Store.

Ms. Abinader is a poet, memoirist, playwright, and novelist. Her most recent poetry collection, This House, My Bones, earned the Willow Press/Aquarius Press Editor’s Selection. She has won the PEN Oakland Josephine Miles Poetry award, a Goldies Award for Literature, and two Oregon Drama awards. She has been a  Fulbright Senior Fellow to Egypt and is one of the founders of the Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation. She currently teaches creative writing at Mills College.
