PARKING & TRANSIT updates for Labor Day weekend
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
Old Dominion University is expecting a several weather event this weekend that will likely impact commuting, parking and transit services. Please review the following information for specific campus transportation notices:
COMMUTING – All community members are encouraged to stay off the roads this weekend unless absolutely necessary. Several routes to ODU campuses may experience roadway flooding, particularly Hampton Blvd. just north of the Norfolk campus.
PARKING – All vehicles expected to remain on campus this weekend are encouraged to relocate TODAY to Garage (B), (C) & (D). Moderate flooding should be expected in Lots 1, 11 and 16 on Saturday, 9/3. The ODU home football game has been moved to Sunday, 9/4, which means that all Football reserved parking locations must be vacated by 5:00AM Sunday. Vehicles must be returned to their proper permit designated areas by Tuesday (due to the Labor Day holiday) at 6:00AM.
MONARCH TRANSIT – Campus Shuttles and SAFE RIDE services will operate their regular schedules, pending road conditions. Expect occasional delays on Saturday, 9/3, due to poor visibility during heavy rainfall, and alternate routes to roadway flooding. Continue to view announcements and track Monarch Transit LIVE on the ODU mobile app.
Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe this weekend.
