Fair Labor Standards Act Workshop
The Office of Research and the Research Foundation will host two workshops for faculty serving as Principal Investigators with information and guidance on the new FLSA rules going into effect on December 1, 2016.
These rules affect research staff paid less than $47,476 per year and requires overtime pay at time and a half for any hourly employee who works more than 40 hours per week. Topics of discussion include budgeting strategies for grant proposals. The new FLSA rules will apply to both ODU and ODURF employees.
