Join the Service-Learning Community to learn ways to incorporate service into your curriculum 9/6

Service-Learning Community with Emily Eddins

Many questions that arise and choices to be made when planning and managing service-learning in your course. What do we mean by “service” in service-learning? Should the projects be student-driven, faculty-driven, community-driven, or all of the above? How can you integrate service and still teach all the required course content? How do you develop a project that is feasible in a semester’s time? How do you know that it will make a difference?

This session will guide you in creating a roadmap for service-learning and will provide tools to manage potential ambiguities and challenges when sending students to work with diverse community organizations.

When: Tuesday, September 6 from 4:00-5:00pm

Where:  Gornto 217. The workshop will also be available for participation via WebConferencing (WebEx).
