49th Street Closure for Waterline Upgrade
Beginning Monday, May 9th, 2016 the City of Norfolk will be installing a new water line in 49th Street starting at Bluestone Ave. and working towards Hampton Blvd. The work will continue until August 15th, 2016. During this construction timeframe, there will be specific patterns implemented. The first traffic pattern will close traffic at the Bluestone Ave. / 49th Street intersection. The City of Norfolk will post signage to detour traffic during the road closure. Recommend using alternates routes during this time to avoid congestion.
Access to the Visitor Lot, Garage E, Parking Lots 8 and 9 along 49th Street will be maintained.
The area of road closure will move as the work progresses east toward Hampton Blvd. Attached map shows the area of work. Should you have any question please contact Facilities Managament at 683-4269. We apologize for any inconvenience caused during this time.
