CCPO & MARI Seminar Series - March 28, 2016

The next CCPO and MARI seminar will be presented on Monday, March 28 by Dr. Sara Maxwell from the Department of Biological Sciences, ODU.  Dr. Maxwell's research focuses on development of science-based solutions to conservation and management in the ocean.  Marine predators move over large areas of the ocean, which makes them excellent platforms for sampling the marine environment. Dr. Maxwell deploys satellite tracking tags on marine predators and uses the data on animal movement and coincident environmental information to understand how the animals use their environment.  This information is then applied to marine conservation to inform the development of marine protected areas or other conservation measures.
