CLIMATE CHANGE TEACH-IN - April 4-8, 2016

Climate Change Teach-in
April 4th – 8th, 2016

What is it?
Dedicating at least 5 minutes of class time to a discussion of Climate Change and how it relates to either your course or your field in general.

Why?
To raise campus awareness and to provide a critical framework about the wide-ranging implications of this topic. We hope to create a common intellectual focus for a week to bring students and faculty into a collective dialogue.

This is not an attempt to advocate for one type of solution or response to the problem of Climate Change; rather we want to broaden the discussion and explore how the problem relates to the many dimensions and disciplines at Old Dominion University.

You Don’t Have to Be an Expert!
Suggestions include clean energy, ocean acidification, coral bleaching, managing water, politics and environmental justice issues, photographs and images, dealing with sea-level rise/flooding issues here in Hampton Roads, melting ice, deforestation, food issues, farmers dealing with droughts, health, heat waves.

QUESTIONS: Judy Hinch - jhinc001@odu.edu

Feedback: Please let us know how it went- Judy Hinch (816-8989) or Liz Smith (683-5842).
